Set within one of Melbourne’s most prestigious neighbourhoods, the project reinterprets Art Deco glamour through a contemporary lens—creating homes that are as distinctive as the people who live in them.
Built Form and Architecture
A Landmark of Modern Deco Architecture
Designed by Peddle Thorp Architects in collaboration with Melbournia Group, Couture Armadale is an architectural statement defined by elegance, proportion, and material richness.
The building’s form blends classic Art Deco geometry with modern luxury, expressed through curved balustrades with fluted glazing, striking black-and-white metal cladding, and large slabs of Nero Marquina marble punctuated by three sculptural gold fins. These elements create a dramatic yet balanced façade that commands presence while respecting the surrounding streetscape.
Every apartment has been individually planned to maximise light, privacy, and spatial flow—an approach rarely seen in medium-density developments.

Like couture fashion, no two residences are the same. Each floorplate is unique, each apartment individually tailored—prioritising comfort, function, and elegance.
This creative journey unfolds from early sketches and mood boards to refined architectural execution, blending Art Deco heritage with contemporary sophistication.

Art and architecture converge throughout Couture Armadale. From the custom designed golden lace entry gate to the reclaimed 1930s Parisian lion-head fountain symbolising strength and confidence—each detail contributes to a layered narrative of luxury.
Inside, Art Deco influences continue through bold black-and-white palettes, curated lighting, bespoke mirrors, and Ralph Lauren wall coverings. The lobby experience is immersive, theatrical, and timeless.
